Southdown lambs Originally the lamb was bought onto the farm to graze in the platts under the Cobnut trees.

It wasnt long before there was enough of a flock to consider supplying it to local people and restaurants.

The pedigree 'Southdown' flock is typified by the short legs, mealy muzzle and a short close fleece. It is a 'rare breed', and the meat is sought after for its delicious flavour.

We can also supply Organic fleeces for spinning, generally white, but if you're lucky black Southdown / Shetland cross.

Again, the flock is reared organically, and a small local butcher is used. The meat can be supplied whole, or more usually as joints and cuts. Please email us for more information and prices.

Hogget - which is older than 1 year, is also available on request.

We tend to lamb late here - in May.

The flock is quite small, with only a certain amount available to buy. For this reason we tend to supply a few quality resturants on a regular basis - 2 Conran Resturants - Blueprint Cafe and Sartoria, and also St Johns in Clerkenwell, London. (Evening Standard resturant of the year 2000)

You can be assured that all the sheep have a wonderful happy life, wandering under the shady cobnut trees and in the cherry orchard!
